On August 17, 2023, Mrs. Mary Jane Shecapio, wife of the late Mr. Abel Trapper Sr, passed away at the CHSLD Vigi Mont-Royal in Montreal at the age of 71 years and 3 months. She resided in Mistissini.

Family members will receive relatives and friends at la Maison funéraire Beaudry & Fils, 377 3rd Street, Chibougamau, G8P 1N4, QC. The viewing will take place on wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at la Maison funéraire Beaudry & Fils. The funeral service will be held on thursday, August 24, 2023, at the Living Waters Assembly, 304 Amisk Street, Mistissini, starting from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM for friends and the public. Subsequently, the service will start at 11:00 AM.

She leaves to mourn her children, late Mark Shecapio, late Emmet Trapper, Anna T. Swallow (Joe), late Juliette Trapper, Minnie Trapper, late Willie Matthew Trapper, late Kristy Trapper, Melissa T. Swallow (Paulmean), Hattie T. Matoush (Allen), Beverly T. Coonishish (Jimmy), and Queenie T. Rabbitskin (Shawn).

Her grandchildren Jason & Brandon Swallow, Elijah, Maudie & Charlene Ratt, Johnny & Samuel Swallow, Abel, Angel, Brianna, Edward, Grace & Israel Matoush, Landon, Moses, Abram & Emmett Coonishish and Kristy, Bertie & Mariam Rabbitskin.

Jolly (Noah), Sarah Shecapio, Christine S. George (Joseph), late Danny Shecapio, and William Josie Shecapio, as well as her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and numerous relatives and friends.
