MAGNUS POIRIER INC.It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gabriele Camporotondo-Marino, husband of the late Silvana Piluso, on October 2, 2023.
Gabriele left his hometown in Italy in 1978 to follow the love of his life and start a family. Silvana and Gabriele built a life together in Montreal and raised three beautiful children. They spent their years bringing their Italian traditions to Montreal, while still making time to visit his beloved hometown and family in Italy.
He will always be remembered for his outgoing personality, contagious smile and impeccable style. If you knew our snazzy Gabi, you know that he took pride in putting together the perfect outfit for his Friday and Saturday night events. He then wrapped up his busy weekends with his weekly Sunday morning Inter Milan soccer games.
Our beloved Gabriele will be missed by his children Iolanda (Vincenzo), Giuseppe and Mario (Cristina). He will never be forgotten by his grandsons Alessandro and Francesco. Although he was always supportive from the sidelines of their soccer games, there was a never-ending argument over which Italian soccer team was the best.
Gabriele will also be missed by his parents Iolanda and the late Giuseppe, his sister Concetta (Giuseppe) and his nieces Francesca and Daniela (Giovan Battista) who still live in his hometown in Italy. He will also be missed by his mother-in-law Maria, his late father-in-law Mario, sister-in-law Franca (Tonino), as well as his nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Gabriele was also fortunate to have a companion, Mena, for the last few years who will miss him dearly.
Visitations will be held at Magnus Poirier Funeral Complex, 6825 Sherbrooke St E on Wednesday October 4, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 5, 2023 at 1:30p.m. at Our Lady of La Difesa, followed by the burial at Le Repos Saint-François D’Assise.
