In loving memory of Vincenzo Amorelli who passed away after a brief illness on May 28, 2019 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of our dear mother Alfonsa Misuraca who predeceased him. Cherished father to Franco (Carole), Angela, Mary (Mehdi) and Gino (Nancy). Adored nonno to Gianna (Tino), Lisa, Zina, Sarah, Jessica, Anthony, Michael, Alessio and Mia and great-grandfather of Matteo and Julia. Survived by his brother Leonardo and sister-in-law Carmelina.
Predeceased by his parents Francesco and Angela and brother Stefano. Also awaiting him heaven are In-Laws Luigi, Maria-Rosa, Giacomo, Giuseppe, Bernardo and Giovanna.
Dad was born in Alessandria della Rocca, Sicily and like so many of his Italian contemporaries landed at Pier 21 in Halifax with his bride to begin a new life in Canada settling down in Montreal.
An avid gardener who loved taking long walks he also loved sitting on the front porch with mom watching the world go by.
Dad helped form the Montreal skyline during his years in construction working on the Olympic Installations and helped build the James Bay Project.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to the many cousins, paesani and neighbors for their love and support over the years.
Resting at Magnus Poirier, 10,300 Pie-IX Blvd, Montreal.
Visitation Saturday June 1st from 2-5 pm and 7-10 pm and Sunday June 2nd from 10 am-12 pm.
A funeral service will be held in the onsite chapel at 12 pm immediately followed by a reception.
Internment at Cimetiere de Laval at a later date.
