1911-2008.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stella Zakowiecki on Dec 30, 2008. Born in Poland to Karol and Emilia Rudkoski, Stella was one year-old when she came to Canada. She was the first of five children; Kazimierz, Frank, Bob and Nora.
Her amazing drive and energy gave her the strength to live independently at home, with only minimal aid, until the end.
She married Joseph Zakowiecki in 1931. Stella is survived by her son Joseph and his wife Helen. Proud grandmother of Elaine, and Bryan [Larissa], fond great-grandmother of Francesca, Annika and Chiara, and loving aunt of Tina, Carol, Jim and Michael.
Visitation is from 9:00AM to 11:00AM followed by a service on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Mount-Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, Qc H2V 2P9 (514) 279-6540. A reception at the Complex will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
