Stanley Edwin Oakes “Gramps” born 17 November 1922 passed away on April 8, 2009. Preceded in death by his wife Irene Bridgette Kelly. He is survived by his loving family Cathy, Kelly, Frank, Lorne, Estelle, Jim, Laurie, Ross & George. He will be sadly missed by his pets Louis, Riley, Maggie, Zoe, and the “pussy cats”. Stan worked for Webster Coal prior to joining the Canadian Navy. During WWII he served on a mine sweeper “Sarnia” and the frigate “Port Colborne”. Stan was: On escort service in the north Atlantic, striking force out of England, in service during the D Day landing of Allies in France, and the Russian Murmansk Run. On discharge Stan Joined and retired from Bell Canada. He will be sadly missed by all his relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 14 at Noon at the
