MAGNUS POIRIER INC.The family of Salvador (Sol) Allende Valdez is profoundly sad to announce his passing on Tuesday December 7, 2021 in Montréal (QC) at the age of 41.
Salvador will be deeply missed by his children Ekamiel and Azalea, his partner Astrid and her daughter Soraya, his mother Gloria Altagracia Taveras, his father Andres Amable Valdez, his sister Florangela, his sister Valentina and her partner Louis-Philippe and their two children Lorenzo and Mathias, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, December 17, 2021, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. ET at the funeral complex Magnus Poirier, located at 222, boul. des Laurentides in Laval.
Salvador was a talented, multilingual, artist-turned-entrepreneur and a storyteller by craft.
Born in Montreal to parents who emigrated from the Dominican Republic, he was proud of his heritage which influenced his music and inspired his editorial style.
Sol was a founding member of the groundbreaking music band Criollo with his cousin Alexis "El Gordo", his best friend Jose "Chiro", and Gilbert "Giby".
He went on to make a name for himself as a successful director, producer and editor working on projects and collaborations close to his heart.
While work was his passion, his family was his true love in life.
Salvador’s legacy will live on in his two adoring children — his greatest pride and joy — his beloved family and relatives, his cherished friends, as well as the countless lives of the people he touched through his substantive body of work.
Sol will be remembered as he wished: the sun by day and star by night.
