FUSARO Rosina
1947-2022
MAGNUS POIRIER INC.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosina Fusaro Barbieri on July 21, 2022. Left to mourn her passing are Rocco, her devoted husband of 51 years, her loving sons Michael (Anna) and Thomas (Adrienne), her sister Hilda (Cosimo), her adoring grandchildren Marco, Jason, Nora and Hannah, and her many nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family and friends. Rosina is predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Antonietta, and her siblings Pina (late Vincenzo) and Dino (Cristina).

Rosina was born in Campobasso, Italy in 1947. At the age of five, she and her family moved to Argentina and lived there for six years before immigrating to Canada. Rosina graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1966 and worked as school secretary at St. Aloysius Elementary and William Hingston High School. For about ten years she also served as parish secretary at Maria Ausiliatrice Mission in RDP.

Rosina earned the nickname “warrior queen” due to her extensive 12-year battle with cancer, including, most recently, non-Hodgkins lymphoma. The family would like to thank the many devoted healthcare professionals who cared for Rosina at the Jewish General Hospital, in particular during this past year. A very special thank you to Dr. Hans Knecht for his commitment, professionalism and compassion.

The family will receive condolences at Magnus Poirier funeral home (10300 Pie-IX Blvd., Montreal) on Thursday, July 28 from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 29 at Maria Ausiliatrice Mission (8550 Ave. Joliot Curie in RDP) at 9:00 am and thence to the Eulalie-Durocher Mausoleum at Cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges in Montreal.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
