MAGNUS POIRIER INC.It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rosa Rigante (née De Feudis) on February 17, 2022 at the age of 82 years old.
Rosa is survived by her husband of 62 years Sergio Rigante and her children Domenic Rigante (Antonietta Cella), Mario Rigante (Vincy Tufano) and Tonia Rigante (Bruno Sollazzo). She was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren (Alexander, Samantha, Juliana, Jonathan, Lauren, Jason, Gabriella, Christopher, Nicolas, Leyla). She is also survived by her brother Domenico Defeudis (Maria Rigante) and sisters in Italy, Melina (Francesco Dell’Orco) and Grazina (Giacomo Dell’Orco ). She is predeceased by her son Ezio Rigante (Rola Saad) and by her brothers Leonardo (Pasqualina) and Franceso.
Rosa immigrated to Canada in 1960, immediately wed and began her family of 4 children shortly after. Although she worked for many years as a seamstress for men`s suits, her passions included making her own patterns to artistically create dresses for special occasions, including her children`s bridal parties and many other countless events. Her love for gatherings with family and friends was second only to her obsession with her grandchildren. Rosa had a natural talent for cooking and baking. Along with her husband, she always found an excuse to open her home to parties and occasions making her home quite literally a revolving door. Sundays were reserved for family lunches with homemade feasts. Rosa loved music, dancing and was usually the life of a party and amongst the last to leave. She had a big sense of humor, hearty contagious laugh and was a master of Italian style limericks. We take solace in the belief that she is happily reunited with her son, Ezio. We are very saddened by her departure but she leaves us with an abundance of memories, stories and traditions. Her memory will live eternally in our hearts.
Visitation will be held at Magnus Poirier Funeral Complex, 10300 Pie IX Blvd. on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 2 to 4:30 and from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. A funeral service will follow at the Chapel of the Complex.
