1925 - 2011
At the age of eighty-six, Robert Sydney Birtwistle, passed away peacefully, on Monday, July 18th, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Shirley Birtwistle (née Harris) and the devoted father of Brian (Liz) and Bruce (Carmen). He also had 4 granddaughters: Sarah, Jessica, Jackie, and Rachel, as well as 4 great-grandchildren. Bob was a long-time member of the Stewart Hall Singers as well as the St-Augustine’s Church Choir. Friends and family are invited to visit at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 boul. Des Sources, D.D.O, 514-685-3344, on Thursday July 21 from 12 to 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
