Our Mom peacefully passed away on August 18, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 104 years and seven months.
Predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Giuseppe Antonecchia. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Phyllis and Charlie; Bernice and Augy. Proud grandmother of Jo-Ann (Gary), Lisa (Bill), and Joe (Maria). Dear great-grandmother of Jessica (Bobby), Michael (Erin), Nicole, Robert, Matthew, and Ben. Great-great-grandmother of Baby Robert.
Mom was the youngest and the last remaining sibling of four sisters and four brothers. As such, she was much admired and respected by countless nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. Furthermore, she had the exceptional privilege of seeing five generations living in Canada and in the United States spanning well over a century.
Always cheerful and independent till the end, Mom spent her later years at Jardins d’Italie surrounded by friendly company. We wish to thank the kind people at the residence and the caregivers from the CLSC who contributed to make her last years enjoyable and comfortable. We also thank the doctors and staff at Notre Dame Hospital for the excellent care she received and are especially grateful to Drs. Pagé, Boivert and Lefebvre.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Magnus Poirier Funeral Complex, 10300 Pie IX Blvd, on Monday, August 30, from 5 to 9 p.m. Due to the current situation, a maximum of 50 people are allowed inside. A rotation will be put in place to give everyone a chance to offer condolences. Funeral service will follow on Tuesday, August 31, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the complex. Due to COVID limitations on numbers, the service will be by invitation only. Private burial will take place on Wednesday, September 1, at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
