KRALJEVIC Milka
1928-2021
MAGNUS POIRIER INC.It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Milka Latinčić-Kraljević on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 8:03 am at Centre d'hébergement Idola-Saint-Jean, Laval. She will be missed by her children Mirjana (Marko), Stjepan, Antun (Antonia), and Bozena. Born in Croatia where she lived on a small farm with her husband and children dreaming of immigrating to Canada for a chance at a better life. Farm life was harsh in those days, working in the fields without machinery, taking care of the animals and her home without any modern amenities and luxuries. The electricity only came in 1963, there was no running water - yet our parents never complained. Our mother was a strong woman with strong convictions, not afraid to speak the truth. She was incredibly hard working, meticulous and instilled in us the importance of cleanliness. If the world were half as conscientious about hygiene as she was there would be no pandemics. Her cooking and baking skills will be remembered by all who ate at her table, and that’s many. If God has a sweet tooth, he is in for a treat!

Her family was her life, her faith in God unwavering. She prayed every day for each and every one of us recommending us to the protection, intercession and guidance of saints she had chosen for us. She oozed love and seemed to have an endless supply of it. Incurably affectionate, if she could get a penny for every kiss, she’d be plenty rich. The hard life took its toll, arthritis set in early in her life. She fought fiercely against the disease, had 11 major surgeries, had her hips and knees replaced, had numerous operations on her spine. The grandkids called her ‘bionic grandma’, however, in the end this horrible disease crippled her body and she lost her autonomy. This she never fully accepted and felt a burden to her family. For a hardworking person this was the worst punishment.

She loved life, travelling, learning new things. She even learned some French at the age of 90. She was fierce and courageous until her last breath.

Predeceased by our father Matej Latinčić (1988), sister Ljubica Kraljević (2002) and brother Stjepan Kraljević (2015). She will be greatly missed by her 7 grandchildren: Cliff (Jessica); Marina (Joseph); Anna (John); Sylvia (Stipe); Adam (Krista); Amanda (Marc-André) and Alana and her 14 greatgrandchildren: Ante, Mate, Matea, Marija, Angelia, Milla, Dane, Ana, Roko, Milena, Emma, Anita, Archer and Izak.

She will be missed by her extended family and friends! Rest in peace mama. You are our hero, our warrior, the bestest mama anyone could ask for.

Počivaj u miru božjem mama! Volimo te puno!

Your children: Mirjana, Stjepan, Antun and Bozena

‘There are in the end three things that last: faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love.’
– 1 Corinthians 13:13
