Passed away at the West Island Palliative Care Residence on September 19, 2011 at the age of ninety-three. Son of the late Ada McAuley and Archie McFall. Predeceased by siblings Margaret Rondeau, Archie and Laura. Beloved husband of the late Claire Lavoie. Loving companion of Bernice Dobby. Cherished father of Stephen (Janet Round), Sharon Brouwer (Rob) and predeceased by his sons James and Brian. Grandpa of Jason (Penny Curran), Elton, Scott, Allison (Nick Meixner), Cory, Grant, Reece and Spencer. Great-grandad of Charlotte and Rebecca. Merv was proud to have served in R.C.A.F. WWII and a long term employee of Bell Canada, retiring in 1983. Visitation at the Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd., DDO, 514-685-3344, on Thursday, September 22, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the Rideau Chapel on Friday, September 23 at 1 pm. Special thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers of the West Island Palliative Care Residence for their amazing care and compassion. Donations to WIPCR would be greatly appreciated.
