Mary (Oma) died peacefully in Montreal at the age of ninety-five on Friday, July 1st, 2011, surrounded by loving family. Predeceased by her husband Albert Guezen (Dec. 12, 1993) and nine brothers and sisters in Holland. Surviving are son, Robert (Heather) and daughter Ingrid (Philip), grandchildren Krista (Aaron), Nicolas (Emma), Angela (Reginald), Gregory and Matthew, great-grandchildren Anna, Devon and Makena, niece Jos (Norm), and Tante Co in New Zealand. Born and raised in Arnhem, Holland, Mary and Albert emigrated to Canada 60 years ago to the day. Known for her generosity, engaging wit, sense of humour and strong will, Mary will be sadly missed by all of her extended family and friends. Her memory will live on in our hearts and minds, especially through all of her handiwork. A special thank you to Sattie and the staff at Evergreen Place for many years of loving care. A celebration of Mary's life will take place at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 des Sources, DDO, Quebec, on Saturday, July 9th, 2011 from 10:00 to 12:00. As per Mary’s wishes, in lieu of flowers donations in her memory to the Canadian Lung Association (www.lung.ca/donate) would be greatly appreciated.
