DOWNEY MURRAY, Marry Ann

Mary Downey, nee Murray, 64, of Ottawa and Mayo, Quebec died in the early hours of Wednesday May 21, 2008 at the Ottawa General Hospital. Mary fought a courageous battle with cancer and was an inspiration to all that knew her. She was born in County Cavan, Ireland on February 9, 1944. Mary is survived by her loving husband James of 43 years. She loved and was loved by her daughter Tammi of Toronto, son Tim of Ottawa and her two cherished grandchildren James and Connor. She will be sadly missed by her brothers Lawrence Murray of Sudbury Ont.; James Murray of Winnipeg, Manitoba and sisters Catherine Kurzinger; Margaret Janeczek both of Sudbury Ont. and Bridgit Ripley of Chelmsford Ont. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Elizabeth (nee Gaffney) Murray of Sudbury, Ont.; brother Edward Murray of Lorraine Ohio and sister Roseann Murray of County Cavan. Mary will be fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law Michelle Downey; son-in-law Nick McCabe-Lokos. She also leaves behind many loving sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and f riends. The family invites relatives and friends to join them on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. at St-Malachy Church, 4505 Route 315, Mayo Quebec, for a mass in presence of ashes.
