MAGNUS POIRIER INC.Mario Ferri- a teacher to hundreds, a mentor to many, and a friend to all - passed away April 19, 2020 at his home in Duvernay Laval, Qc.
He was 71 .
Mario was born in San Pietro Infine , Caserta- Italy, to Nicandro Ferri and Maria Gracia Sacco in 1949 . At the young age of 12 , he sorrowfully left his birthplace with his family and immigrated to Canada for the hope of a better life. He did his best to integrate himself in a very different society , and graduated from McGill University with a teaching degree.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife Maria Antonietta Perluzzo; children Loredana and Karen ( Chris Papafilipakis) his granddaughter Zoë ; sister Giuseppina Ferri ( Giuseppe Nardelli) along with his mother in law Maria Vincelli , brother in law Raffaele Perluzzo (Shelley Campbell ) ; nieces and nephew Grace,Mauro , Heather and Andrea.
Mario was a loving husband and father , especially his adoration and devotion to his pride and joy, granddaughter Zoë Ferri . He touched our lives in so many ways, words fall short of capturing his true essence.
Although he enjoyed a lengthy career as an elementary school teacher, the great outdoors was his heaven on earth. Mario was a self taught maple syrup and wine producer , enjoyed annual fishing trips , golf and barbecuing with friends .
He always had many projects in mind involving friends and family from near and far . Mario will be forever remembered for his big personality, entertaining stories, unfailing work ethic and willingness to help anyone in need.
We raise a glass in your memory and will keep it flowing always .....
