RICHARDSON (NEE GAUDIN), Marilyn J.

1933 - 2013

Pointe-Claire

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Joan Richardson of Pointe Claire on April 11, 2013. Married for 55 years to Ross Richardson (deceased) she will be missed by her two daughters, Joyce and Barbara (Alain), her two grandsons Isaac Olmstead and David Ladouceur as well as her great granddaughter Leah Olmstead. She is also survived by her brother Barry Gaudin (Lynn) of Edmonton, Alberta. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Marilyn spent her teenage years in East York until she married and moved to Brampton, Ontario and shortly after to Pointe Claire, Quebec with her husband. During her early adult years she worked for Bell Canada and then became a homemaker. Marilyn had a passion for all types of handwork. She began with sewing, knitting and quilting and over the years developed a special talent for petit point. For many years Marilyn was a well-known member of the Lakeshore Stitchery Guild where she participated in many courses and in later years shared her experiences with other new members. She will be remembered for her deep passion for all things handmade.
Visitation will be held at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, DDO on Wednesday, April 17 from 12pm to 2pm followed by a service will in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Quebec Lung Association.
