MAGNUS POIRIER INC.It is with great sadness that the family of Nicola and Maria Cianci announce the sudden passing of their parents. After a lifetime together, even one day apart was too long. Maria passed away on June 22, 2016 and Nicola followed her to their eternal home on June 23, 2016. They were devoted to each other throughout 66 years of marriage. The couple was deeply loved by their four children Filippo (the late Roseann), Nick (Judi), Loretta (Pat) and Sandro (Kim). Nicola and Maria were proud and caring Nonni to their ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. They leave behind many siblings, and close family members. Nicola arrived in Canada from Italy in 1950, and worked tirelessly to help bring his entire family to this country. Throughout her life, Maria dedicated herself to her children and her family, always putting others before herself. They will be sadly missed and never forgotten. The family will receive condolences on Sunday, June 26th between 7:00-10:00 pm and on Monday, June 27th between 2:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-10:00 pm at the Magnus Poirier Funeral Home, 7388 Viau Blvd, Montréal. A celebration of their lives will be held at Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church, on Tuesday, June 28th at 11:00 am. Following the service, they will be taken to their final resting place at Rideau Memorial Gardens, 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-des-Ormeaux. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in their memory to the McGill Centre for Studies in Aging (Dr. Serge Gauthier), http://aging.mcgill.ca/donate.htm.
