1932 - 2013
Our beautiful mother Margaret passed away peacefully on January 6, 2013 after a courageous battle that she fought with grace, dignity and humor as she did with all challenges that she faced throughout her life.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters Paula and Alison, her grandsons Adam and Shawn Stroud, her former son-in-law Jim Stroud, her granddaughter Fiona De Linden, her sisters Nora Lunn (Norman Kudrenecky), Beverley Choppin (the late Dick Pope) and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews as well as her many dear and cherished friends.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Terry, her son Greg, her parents Mary and Victor Lunn, her step-father Bert Choppin and brother Ernest Lunn.
Margaret was very active and will be remembered for her many interests including her church, her needle work such as quilting where she taught the art to many new quilters, karate where she earned her 4th Dan Black Belt, and bowling where she achieved her league's all-time record 265.
Special thanks to all of the staff and volunteers at the West Island Palliative Care Residence for the wonderful care and support they offered to both Margaret and our family.
Friends may pay their respects on Thursday, January 10 from 1 to 3 pm at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 boul. des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc 514-685-3344. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Margaret's life on Friday, January 11 at 2 pm at St. Columba-by-the-Lake Church at 11 Rodney Avenue in Pointe-Claire. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Island Palliative Care Residence Foundation would be appreciated.
