MAGNUS POIRIER INC.The family of Liga Marija Langins is sad to announce her passing in Montreal, Quebec. She was 73 years of age. Liga is survived by her sister-in-law Anna Langins, nieces and nephews, Margrieta Langins, Juris Langins, Kaspars Langins, Maija Langins and Paulis Langins (Patrice) and her dearly loved grand nieces and nephew, Laila, Marlow And Matiss. Also survived by her Aunt Dr. Kira Obrazcova, cousins Christopher Candow ( Shelley Messerschmidt), Sandra Candow (Chris Berkers) and their daughters Martina and Daria.
Liga is predeceased by her parents Ernests Langins and Dr. Junija Langins of Corner Brook, NL and her brother Janis Langins.
Liga was born in post war Germany in 1947. Her family arrived in June 1948 in preconfederaton Newfoundland. The Langins were 3rd Latvian family to settle in Corner Brook. Her family made Corner Brook and Newfoundland their new home for life. As a student, she attended McGill University in Montreal, studied in Grenoble, France and her early career working in Ottawa. Liga returned in 1980s to Corner Brook ( to be closer to her family) and most recently resided in Montreal the past few years.
She was devoted to her faith and her family and will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. We ask that each of us remember her in our private prayers and take a moment to be grateful for having had her enrich our spiritual lives.
Internment will be at a later date.
The family requests that InMemoriam donations be made to a charity of your choice.
