Jozefa passed away at home at the age of 96. She was predeceased by her husband Jan (1987) and son Kazimierz (2002). Mourning her passing are her daughter Bogumila (Costantino) of Montreal, grandson Vincenzo K. (Tamera) of Ottawa, daughter-in-law Marilyn (Robert) of St. Catharines, sister Wanda of Bristol, England, as well as many other relatives and friends in Canada, England and Poland.
Jozefa’s long life journey began with her birth in pre-WWII eastern Poland, traumatic deportation by the Soviets in 1940, separation from her parents and, with her younger sister and brother in tow, making an arduous journey through the Soviet Union to the Middle East where she joined the Polish Forces under British Command, and where she married Jan Libiszowski in 1947, settling in England and finally immigrating to Canada in 1958.
Jozefa was a strong-minded generous woman not afraid of hard work, an exceptional cook who liked entertaining, a pamperer of the family dogs and cats, and above all she was dedicated to taking care of her family. Her family and friends will miss her very much.
Visitation and funeral service will be held at Magnus Poirier Funeral Complex, 10300 Pie-IX Blvd, Montreal Nord on Wednesday, January 13th, from 10:30am to 1:00pm. Burial will follow at 2:00pm at the National Field of Honor in Pointe Claire. Due to COVID government restrictions, visitor capacity is limited to 25 people who must adhere to current safety protocols.You are invited to watch the live streaming by clicking on the following link :
