It is with sadness that we announce that John passed away peacefully on September 9th, 2011 following a lengthy hospital stay. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his children Debra (Gregg), Gary, and Sharon (Craig), his grandchildren Mark (Mel), Nathan, Bradley, Caitlyn, Lauren, and Grant, his ex-wife Shirley (Roger), and his surviving siblings.
He lived a full life that included travelling the world several times for business while teaching telecommunication technology in many countries. His passions included opera, chess, movies, and reading.
The family wish to extend a huge thank you to the doctors and staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital for their caring and support over the last eight months.
Visitation will take place at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, 514-685-3344 on Saturday, October 8 from 12pm to 4pm followed by a memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation.
