It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, brother, brother in law and uncle on April 27th, 2014.
Hugo leaves to mourn his loving wife of 60 years (Anita Merkel). Predeceased by his parents the late Heinrich and Irene Schmidt; his brother Heinz and sister-in-law Ria, and sister Rose Schmidt. Uncle to the late Werner Schmidt (Margit) & the late Michael Schmidt (Susane). Great uncle to Maximilian and Sebastian Schmidt. Brother-in-law to the late Katharina and Paul Eggmann. Uncle to niece Jutta (Klaus Baumgart). Survived by brother-in-law Willy Merkel (Monique) and nephew Ronnie Merkel and the late Peter Merkel. Special friend to Paul and Nora Mongeau.
The family will receive your condolences at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Boul. Des Sources, DDO, 514-685-3344 on Sunday, May 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service.
