HECKERSBRUCH Helmut Also Known As Helmut Heckers
1928-2016
MAGNUS POIRIER INC.
With great sadness I must announce that my father has passed away today July 25, 2016 at the age of 88 years.
His life was full of ups and downs.
Truly a jack of all trades. He did not have any limits of what he was able to do. He was never afraid to try or to fail.
Born in Lemgo, Germany.
Lived through WWII...
Came to Canada in the early 1950's to start a new life in the fur trade.
A furrier by trade he built a well respected fur business both as a fur coat maker and a raw fur buyer.
In the 70's-80's he became one of the province of Quebec largest raw fur buyers. Purchasing Furs from all over Quebec. His Association of fur trappers had over 7000 members.
After the decline of the fur market and several unfortunate incidents life changed for him and he left the fur business.
What never changed was his entrepreneurial sprit.
Even in the last moments in his life he was still finding a way to make a buck.
He leaves behind Jeanne D'Arc, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, brother, nieces and nephews, in Germany as well as in Canada.
With respect to his wishes there will be no funeral, but we will have a special gathering for his friends and family.

On Sunday July 31th at 1:00 pm, we will be hosting a gathering in memory of Helmut Sr. Heckersbruch at the Buffet Chinois Mandarin in LaSalle.
