MAGNUS POIRIER INC.It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Guglielmo Bertoldi at the age of 95, beloved husband of his Grande Amore the late Adele Dalferro. Loving father of Mirko (Shirley) and Lucy Bertoldi (Elias); cherished grandfather to Alessandro (Genevieve), Marco (Michelle), Maria (Kris), Anthia (Matt), Christos, Adelina and Sophia; adoring great-grandfather to Luca, Zachary and Emma. He also leaves to mourn many other relatives and friends in Canada and Italy.
Guglielmo will be remembered not only for being a loving and caring father, nonno and bisnonno…We find it important to highlight that this great man was also a highly decorated WW2 War Hero; a Partigiano who obtained, amongst other medals, the Medal of Honor for playing a crucial part in destroying fascism and liberating Italy. He leaves us with a proud legacy that has helped pave a better life for past and future generations. We offer him our heartfelt thanks for his service along with our utmost respect. A true hero in every sense, he will be in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held at Magnus Poirier Funeral Complex, 6825 Sherbrooke Street East, on Sunday December 29, 2019 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday December 30, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church (7645 Du Mans, St-Leonard); thence burial at the Laval Cemetery, 5505 Chemin du bas St-Francois. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Montreal Heart ad Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
