MAGNUS POIRIER INC.Giuseppina Lastoria
January 1, 1942 - April 24, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Giuseppina (Pina) Lastoria, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. This delicate, energetic, and all-loving woman has gone on to join her beloved husband of 59 years, Giuseppe Paniconi, in eternal life. Her jovial presence and bright smile will be sorely missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those she left behind.

Born on January 1st, 1942 in the town of Civitanova in the Molise region of Italy, she and her family bravely set out to immigrate to Canada when she was 15 years old. In 1960, she married Giuseppe, and they began their loving family together. A modern family woman, she raised her family while working tirelessly in the upholstery business, excelling in her craft. Her family was unequivocally her most cherished treasure. She rejoiced in their love and togetherness, giving liberally of her time, love and nurturing care. She was a social network in her own right – caring for, keeping contact with, and gathering loved ones. Always witty, sharp, and observant, she paid incredible attention to detail. She had a passion for baking, with her delicacies gracing the tables of countless families’ and friends’ celebrations. This beautiful woman took pride in her appearance, always putting her best foot forward. She was held in high esteem by all, to know her was to love her.

She leaves to mourn her sons Rico (Carmela), Mauro (Rita), and her grandchildren Julia (Andrew), Amanda (Nadim), Joseph, Evan (Panagiota), and Nicolas. Also left to mourn are her brother, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends.

Due to the current circumstances, a private ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 29th at 2:00 pm that can be attended virtually via the following link :
