MAGNUS POIRIER INC.It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Giorgio Raponi, on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the age of 90.
Giorgio Raponi was a respected and loving husband to Giuliana Benedetti, father to Dino (Marlène) and Carlo Raponi, grandfather to Matthew and Thomas Raponi and he was a loving man to his siblings, Giuditta (Rudofo) and Annunziata, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Giorgio will be remembered affectionately as "Zio Giorgio" by all those who have known him or have seen him riding his bike in the neighborhood. He was a humble man with a big heart who found joy in everything. If you were lucky enough to have shared a glass of his homemade wine with him, a tango on the dance floor or even just the simple pleasure of hearing him tell a story or a joke, you'd know the power of his infectious laugh and smile.
We were grateful to have celebrated his 90th birthday last month and reflect on 90 years of cherished memories. Giorgio left this world as gracefully and naturally as a leaf falling off a tree in fall.
Visitation will be held at Magnus Poirier Funeral Complex, 6825 Sherbrooke Street East, on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Friday morning as of 12 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 2 p.m. at San Domenico Savio Church.
