LOUBIER CAMERON, GUY

1932 - 2017

COWANSVILLE

Peacefully on May 4, 2017 in Cowansville, Québec at the age of 84.

Guy is survived by his daughters Lisa Diner (née Cameron), (Alan) and Jennifer Herszman Capraru, his grandchildren Zanthy, Justin, Theo and Aaron Diner (Toronto) and by his brother André Loubier (Glenroy) (Sherbrooke). He was the son of Paul Loubier and Germaine Mongeau of Sherbrooke, where he was born on October 13th 1932. Guy's first father was Donat J. Cameron who was killed tragically in a hunting accident in 1933.

Guy grew up in Sherbrooke and Knowlton, Que. His first job was at the Brome Lake Hotel, which the Loubier family owned from 1944-1957. His professional life was spent in Montreal and spanned sales, investments and real estate with companies such as British American Bank Note, Planned Investments Corporation and Claude Neon Advertising. During his marriage to the late Hélène Herszman, they lived in Westmount, Que. with their daughters Jennifer and Lisa. Guy particularly loved horses, as well as skiing, fishing and travel. He was a true raconteur and bon vivant. Above all he loved spending time with friends and family at his home on Sugar Hill in his beloved Knowlton. Lifelong friends include Hartland McKeown, Ritchie Bell and his mentor, Jack Rudel.

The family is grateful for the support and care of the staff of the Centre d'Accueil Cowansville where he resided the last few years of his life, the Manoir Lac Brome and the Brome-Missisquoi Perkins Hospital.

A graveside service will take place this summer at the Cimetière St. Michel in Sherbrooke.
