POLNEY, Frank

Frank Polney, May 30, 1921-April 15, 2011 at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Beloved husband of Rose Lukian and beloved father of Carla (Richard Lahey) and of Daria (Francis Humphrey). He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Anna, Andrew and Abigail Humphrey as well as by his large extended family. Much gratitude to his brother Henry (Colleen) and niece Gail Polney who showed selfless love and practical help during his illness.Frank Polney worked in heavy industry (Dominion Engineering, General Electric) travelling to Brazil, the Philippines, as well as sites in Canada and the U.S.A., overseeing the assembling of massive mining equipment. He always took a keen interest in his family and enjoyed the company of his children and grandchildren. He was always active , enjoying golf with friends and family. He loved working on his projects around the house and gardening. He remained active until the last few months of his life when cancer (asbestosis) became aggressive. The family wishes to express much gratitude to the staff of the Royal Victoria Hospital, 10 Medical, who showed tremendous care for him. The funeral will take place at Mount Royal Cemetery, 1297 Chwemin de la Foret, Outremont on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the chapel. Visitation will start at 11:30 am.
