1937 - 2011
Our beloved Franek passed away on February 21, 2011 in Montreal. His life began with hardship being deported from Poland with his family to the Gulag in Siberia and ended with a long battle with cancer. Throughout, he maintained his courage and witty sense of humour, for which he will be remembered. He is survived by his wife Maria, daughter Gabriella, brothers, sisters, brothers in-law , sisters in-law, nephews, nieces and friends from Canada, England, Poland and USA. Funeral service on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 12pm at Our Lady of Czestochowa 2550 Gascon Ave., Montreal, with a reception to follow in the church hall until 4pm. Donations can be made to Palliative Care at the Montreal General Hospital or to the Cedars Cancer Institute at the MUHC.
