Frances Lalonde (Nee Charlesworth)
1934-2011
Frances passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her husband Eric and family. She lived her life to the fullest and anyone who was lucky enough to meet her knows that – she had no regrets.
She leaves her loving husband Eric, a family of 4 children Phil (Linda), Bob (Lois), Cathy (Mark), and Peter (Sophie), her beautiful grandchildren Colin, Jillian, Kensley, Justine, Olivia, Eric, Vanessa, Julia, Emma and Liam, her brother Reg (Gemma) and brother-in-law Norman (Carolyn). Frances also leaves her special nieces and their families, Joanne and Dianne and her nephews Colin, Glen, Donald and Mario. Predeceased by her sister-in-law Anita (late Jules) and her nephew Alan.
She loved her friends and once a friend always a friend – there are too many to list, you know who you are and know that she loved you deeply.
Visitation will be held at the Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd., DDO, 514-685-3344 on Friday February 11 from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Thomas a Becket Church, 4320 Ste. Anne, Pierrefonds on Saturday February 12 at 11am with a reception to follow in the church hall.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Royal Victoria Hospital – 5W Women’s Pavilion for their compassion and care, CLSC Pierrefonds’ special nurses and the staff from NOVA. Many thanks to the staff of West Island Palliative Care Residence for their friendship and support. We would also like to thank Dr. Lucy Gilbert for her excellent care and her phenomenal bedside manner. Thank you to our friend Rosemary O’Grady for your expertise and support. Finally, a very special thank you goes to Dr Antonio Vigano for his outstanding dedication and friendship. The friends and family near and far who supported us through these final days – thank you.
In lieu of flowers, Frances requests that you make a donation to the West Island Palliative Care Residence (www.wipcr.ca )
In Frances’ words “You need to be proud of your name and don’t let it down because you represent everyone who came before you”. The torch has been passed and we will not let you down.
