GIRARDELLI, Franca

Surrounded by family and loved ones, Anna Maria Franca Girardelli, 55, went to be with God on November 25 after a brave 17-year battle with Multiple Myeloma. Franca was born to Italian parents who taught her early in life the values of perseverance and determination. Franca is predeceased by her father, Biante Girardelli, and is survived by her mother, Maria Casagrande; her sister, Nadia Girardelli; and her children of whom she is eternally proud: daughter Tania, and son, Shant. She will always be missed by her loving extended family and close group of friends. We would like to thank the many health care professionals, particularly Dr. Shamy and Dr. Saine, the staffs of the Lakeshore General Hospital and the Jewish General Hospital, Nurse Linda, Caregiver Terry. Much gratitude to the counselors, spiritual guides, and friends for their love, kindness and support over the years. Franca will be remembered for her strong spirit, her courage and zest for life, always positive despite her illness. Franca’s life will be celebrated on December 5th from 2-5pm and 7-10 pm, with services on December 6th at 1 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275, Blvd. des Sources, Dollard des Ormeaux. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Myeloma Canada or to the West Island Palliative Care Centre.
