Fatma Sarah Essack, better known as “Memere”, 99 years, returned to her heavenly home, peacefully, on Tuesday October 18th, 2016 after a long and fulfilling life.
Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God has ultimately given her peace.
Memere was born in the Seychelles on February 6th, 1917. She married John Constant Thomas Collie. This union blessed them with seven children; John, Esther, Geraldine, Moses, Jerina, Alvis and Elsie. Memere’s legacy continues with twentynine grandchildren, fortyseven great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed, however we may now celebrate that she is at peace in the arms of Constant and her creator. The memories of warm loving kisses on our cheeks and her head bobbing to her own beat, will forever be in our hearts.
We will celebrate her life on Monday October 24th, 2016, with a funeral service held at Mount Zion Seventh Day Adventist Church, situated at 2020 Wellington, Pointe Sainte Charles, Qc., H3W 1W8. Private family viewing will begin at 10am and open to friends and public at 11am. The service will commence at 12pm with burial to follow at 2:00pm at Rideau Memorial Gardens situated at 5239 boul. Des Sources, D.D.O, Qc., H9B 2A6. In lieu of flowers the family, would accept donations, information will be provided at the Church. Prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted as well.
