Eileen Oswald (née Elder) 1939-2022
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Oswald (née Elder) in Lachute, Québec on January 29, 2022. She was 82 years young. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ross Oswald, brother Lloyd Elder, sister-in-law Lesley Lacate and niece Andrea Elder. She leaves behind to miss her terribly, her brother-in-law John Oswald, and nephews Matthew Elder, Mark Griffith (Jeannie) and their children, and Gordon Griffith (Nancy) and their children. She will also be missed by extended family and friends.
Eileen had a particular gift; everyone who had the chance to know her, loved her! She was always available to help and to volunteer, with a special devotion to the Lachute United Church. To those who were close to her, she was always there to listen, to give her insight and perspective while being softspoken.
A special thank you to the employees of the St-Philippe Residence and of the Lachute Hospital for the care they provided Eileen.
Due to current circumstances, a funeral ceremony will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, we would ask that donations be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Breast Cancer Society of Canada.
