THOMPSON (NEE BEATTIE), Eileen Marion

1921 - 2018

She passed peacefully in her sleep after a short stay in hospital.

Daughter of the late James Beattie and the late Elizabeth Chambers. Beloved wife of the late Albert Thompson, a dairy farmer in what was then the parish of Saint-Andre d’Argenteuil and loving mother of Richard, Mary (Joe Kelly) and Philip.

Cherished grandmother to Karen (Michael Ohlmann) and Joseph Jr. Great grandmother to Annika, Mitchell, AJ and Thomas.

Also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.

Predeceased by brothers Grant (Marjorie Dixon), Ross (Isabell MacArthur) and sister Janet. Survived by sisters Alda Oswald (Albert) and Mabel Canning (Keith)

A lifelong member of the Argenteuil Pioneer Women’s Institute and longtime member of MRMP church Evening Circle. She devoted many hours over the years to support church activities and community events.

A kind and generous soul; she was always ready with a smile. She cooked / baked using a wood stove, sewed clothes for herself and others, and tended a large garden each summer. In short, she was a master of all the skills that made her house a home whilst displaying a work ethic that never waned.
