MAGNUS POIRIER INC.Music was his heartbeat. Now, there is a silence of the sound of music in Saint Laurent. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Bruno Casarotto at the age of 91, shortly before midnight on Thursday, March 21st, 2019 peacefully in his sleep after a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Maria Liuzzo, father to Wilma (Rosario) and Orlando (Kim), grandfather to Michael and Alexia. He also leaves behind his loving brother Angelo (Lucia), his sister Ferdinanda, countless nieces and nephews, in the Veneto (Italy,) cherished close family members on our mother’s side of the family who adopted him upon arrival in Montreal in 1956, and precious friends he had grown extremely fond of throughout the years. He was predeceased by his father Rizzieri Casarotto, mother Cesira Panato and 8 other siblings.
A heartfelt thank you to his compassionate and devoted healthcare givers and the Doctors and nurses who made him comfortable in his final days at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Family and friends are invited to share stories and memories of our father on Sunday, May 5th from 1:30-4:15 p.m. at the Magnus Poirier Funeral Home located at 10300, Pie-IX (corner of Fleury) Montréal-Nord (Québec) H1H-3Z1. Ms. Louise Pelletier will officiate at his memorial in the Magnus Poirier Chapel from 4:15-5:00 p.m., after which there will be a “Rinfresco” on the premises at the Cartier and Laurier Dining Rooms from 5:00-7:00 p.m. No flowers by request. You may wish to honour his memory by making a donation to La Fondation Gracia or to St. Mary’s Hospital. Our father’s cremains will be taken to his hometown in the Veneto at a later date.
You will be sadly missed, but never forgotten, caro Papà… Riposa in pace.
