Peacefully and courageously, supported by her family, on Monday, November 21, 2011. Loving Mother of Cathy Jerome, Jeffrey McMurdo (Angela Riccardi) and Laurie McMurdo. Cherished 'Nana' of Michael Jerome, Marcia McMurdo and Christopher Patterson. Loyal wife of Leo Purcell. Beverly was a mother and Nana above all else. She loved family dinners and entertaining friends in her home. Her favourite times were with the people she loved. As a gifted singer, Bev's voice enhanced many weddings, funerals and holiday festivities. Along with a successful career as a Mom, Bev's devotion to children prompted her to become a fondly remembered teacher at LaSalle Catholic Comprehensive High School, where she inspired many students to greatness by believing in them.
Bev's gradual decline as a result of Alzheimer's Disease led her to spend her final years at Centre Benjamin Viger. The family wishes to profoundly thank Gerry Brennan and the staff of the second floor for their love and care of Mom when she could no longer live at home.
Resting at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, H9B 2A6, 514-585-3344. Visitation Wednesday, November 23rd, 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Service in the Rideau Funeral Home Chapel at 10 am on Thursday, November 24th. Thence to Cote des Neiges Cemetery.
