BATTISTA, ARMANDO O.
1936-2008

In Kingston, on Sunday 2 March 2008, at the age of 71 years, passed away peacefully ARMANDO O. BATTISTA with his family at his side. He is predeceased by his father Antonio Battista and his mother Theodora Colarusso as well as his sisters Gene and Lena.

Beloved husband of Barbara Battista. Lovingly remebered by his sister Maria Battista Gemme, his five stepchildren, fourtheen grandchildren, two greatgrandsons and other relatives and friends.

Armando Battista began his career with Canadian National Railways at an early age and retiring from VIA Rail in 1990. Armando loved every aspect of the railway industry. He was passionnate about his work and was a highly respected expert in air brakes and was a member of and president of the International Air Brake Association. He later co-founded ALP Rail Industries inc.

His greatest joy was to be fishing or teaching to fish with his grandchildren sharing his stories'' with them. The grandchildren delighted in his companionship.

He will be greatly missed.

A special thank you to doctors Ilan and Hussein, as welle as Kidd-6 nurses and assistants for their kindness and compassion.

Visitation will be held at the Chapel of Funeral Home Magnus Poirier complex Sherbrooke 6825 Sherbrooke East Street, Montreal, on Wednesday 5 March from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday 6 March from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday 7 March at 9:30 a.m.

A funeral service will be held on Friday 7 March at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of complex followed by the encryptment at Repos St-François D'Assise.
