Passed away peacefully after a brave battle with illness on September 1, 2011 at the Lakeshore General Hospital. Beloved husband of Rosalia Mayer. Loving father of Gertrude (Salvatore D'Urso) and Anton (Lucy). Predeceased by his son Karl. Cherished grandfather of Arianna, Paolo, Peter, Andrew, Kevin and Mark Zachary and great-grandfather of Braeden. He also leaves behind his brother Jacob, his sister Katharina, nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbours and friends. Visitation at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd., DDO, 514-685-3344, on Monday, September 5 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will take place at St. Thomas a Becket Church, 4320 St. Anne, Pierrefonds, on Tuesday, September 6 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Quebec Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.
Anton will be sadly missed by family and friends.
